Seoul Rises to 28th in Global Financial Centres Index

Seoul is continuing to rise in the Global Financial Centres Index, which ranks the financial competitiveness of cities worldwide.

Seoul ranked 28th among 75 cities included in the index released Friday by the City of London Corporation.

Hong Kong ranked third, Singapore fourth and Tokyo fifth.

Seoul jumped 18 slots to 35th in last September’s index and rose seven more this time.

The Global Financial Centres Index assess cities in five key areas --- human resources, business environment, market access, infrastructure and general competitiveness --- through questionnaires and assessment reports from some 50 outside organizations.
