FM Yu Arrives in Shanghai for 3-Day China Trip

South Korean Foreign Minister Yu Myung-hwan arrived in China Wednesday for a three-day trip to the nation.

Yu was welcomed to Shanghai by China's ambassador-designate to South Korea Zhang Xinshen.

Zhang told Yu that as the new ambassador to Korea, he plans to further friendly relations between Korea and China, adding that he hopes South Korean president Lee Myung-bak would accept China’s invitation to the Shanghai World Expo 2010 that will begin in May.

After touring the site for the upcoming Expo on Wednesday afternoon, Yu will head to Beijing on Thursday for talks with his Chinese counterpart Yang Jiechi that are expected to focus on ways to facilitate the resumption of the six-way nuclear talks, which China chairs.
