Lee Meets With Leader of Lions Club International

President Lee Myung-bak has met with the president of Lions Clubs International, Eberhard Wirfs, and expressed encouragement for the organization's efforts in developing the local and international communities.

During the meeting at the presidential office, Lee emphasized that Korea will now join efforts to help with underdeveloped nations of the world, citing assistance it received from international volunteer organizations like Lions Clubs when it was struggling.

Lee added that at the Group of 20 Summit scheduled for November in Seoul, the delegates would discuss sustainable growth and corporate social responsibility.

The president said the government plans to have Microsoft’s former chairman Bill Gates to preside over the corporate social responsibility session at G20.
