65-Yr-Old Korean Marathoner to Run across US

A 65-year-old Korean-American marathoner will run across the United States in the name of world peace and the unification of the Korean Peninsula.

Kwon E-joo, chief of the New York-based Korean Road Runners Club said during a ceremony to announce the run that another aim of his trip is diabetes awareness.

Kwon began running marathons in 2000 when he was 54 years old. He has since run 100 marathons.

He will embark on the 56-hundred-kilometer journey from Los Angeles to New York on March 23rd with plans of having the race completed by July ninth.
