China and North Korea will likely to increase their cooperation in tourism.

China's National Development and Reform Commission on Thursday released a comprehensive plan to develop the tourism industry in its northeast region.

The plan especially includes a project to develop new tourism routes connecting China's Jilin Province and North Korea's Hyesan, Rajin and Chungjin. This is separate from the existing route connecting China's Shenyang, Dondong and the North's Pyongyang.

Beijing also decided to resume group tours to the North on April 12th, which was banned in 2006 due to concerns over gambling.
