China says it is paying attention to the Korean government's investigation into the sinking of the Cheonan.

A Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman on Tuesday told a regular news briefing that Beijing is paying attention to the case and taking note of Seoul's position that it will conduct a scientific and objective probe. The spokesman also made a similar comment in last week's briefing.

The spokesman added that China believes the Cheonan matter will be resolved well.
