Clinton: US to Consult with S.Korea on Cheonan Incident

U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton says the U.S. will closely consult with South Korea and other partners in the region when addressing the “Cheonan” naval incident.

Clinton made the remark to reporters Tuesday after being asked to clarify earlier comments made by U.S. Assistant Secretary of State Kurt Campbell, who suggested that North Korea could face some penalties if it is found that it was responsible for the sinking of the Cheonan.

Clinton said she has nothing to add to what Campbell said, only that the matter is an evolving situation.
