UN Chief Hopes for Objective Probe on Cheonan

U.N. Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon says he hopes South Korea will produce objective and accurate probe results on the “Cheonan” case through broad, international cooperation.

Ban made the comment Wednesday while visiting the Korean Consulate General in New York to pay respects to the sailors who died in the Cheonan incident at a memorial altar set up at the consulate.

The U.N. chief added that when the probe results are produced, he expects Seoul will take necessary actions amid support and understanding from its allies and other countries participating in the six-party nuclear talks.
