U.S. State Department officials reportedly discussed with Chinese officials the six-way nuclear talks and the sinking of South Korea’s “Cheonan” naval vessel.

State Department spokesman Philip Crowley told reporters Wednesday that Assistant Secretary of State Kurt Campbell stopped in Beijing on his way back to Washington from a trip to Southeast Asia. Crowley said Campbell held discussions with Chinese officials on a number of bilateral and multilateral issues.

Crowley said top U.S. nuclear negotiator Sung Kim joined Campbell in the Chinese capital and delivered Washington’s stance on the “Cheonan” naval incident and the six-way nuclear talks.
