The Global Korean Business Convention in Shenyang has become a national event in China.

According to the office in charge of organizing the convention, the Shenyang municipal government gained approval from the Chinese central government to upgrade the business gathering to a national event.

The Shenyang municipal government is cohosting the event, along with the South Korean Consulate General in Shenyang and the Korea Chamber of Commerce in China.

With the upgrade, a large group of high-level officials from South Korea and China are expected to attend the convention. The convention is now expected to open on July fifth, or one week later than initially scheduled given the extra time that will be needed for diplomatic procedures.

Some 15-hundred Korean businesspeople from around the world are expected to attend the event.
