Chinese Daily Urges NK to Stop 'Nuke Games'

A Chinese daily is urging North Korea to stop what the paper is calling “nuclear games” following Pyongyang’s claim that it has developed the capability to conduct nuclear fusion reactions.

In an editorial Friday, the Global Times said the North must suspend its nuclear games, adding that Pyongyang is walking a fine line by making great powers nervous with its nuclear ambitions. The Global Times is a daily published under the People's Daily, which is the official newspaper of the Communist Party of China.

The editorial said that the longer the North plays its nuclear games, the more risks it will face. The report urged the North to halt actions that result in strategic crises.

Meanwhile, the China Daily quoted experts as saying that the North’s nuclear fusion claims are more politically motivated than scientifically proven.
