US House Approves Resolution Condemning NK

The U.S. House of Representatives has approved a resolution condemning North Korea for sinking South Korea’s “Cheonan” naval vessel with a torpedo.

The House passed the resolution in a plenary session, with 411 votes in favor and three against.

The resolution expresses strong support for South Korea’s probe findings on the Cheonan incident and denounces North Korea for the military provocation.

It urges the U.S. and the international community to join hands in dealing with the Cheonan incident and in punishing North Korea.

The initiator of the resolution is Representative Eni Faleomavaega, the chairman of the House subcommittee on Asia, the Pacific and the Global Environment.

The resolution was signed by Democratic and Republican leaders on the House Committee on Foreign Affairs.
