Germany has urged the international community to appropriately tackle the sinking of the “Cheonan” naval vessel.

German Foreign Minister Guido Westerwelle described the Cheonan incident as an unjustifiable military attack during a ministerial-level meeting the European Union and ASEAN convened in Madrid, Spain.

He said that Germany supports South Korea for actions it takes in response to an investigation that found North Korea responsible for the sinking of the Cheonan.

The German foreign minister stressed that the international community should respond with an “appropriate” and well-thought-out reaction to the incident.
