Clinton Warns Myanmar Not to Cooperate with NK on Nukes

U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton has warned Myanmar not to pursue any cooperation with North Korea on a nuclear program.

Clinton, who is in Vietnam for regional security talks, said Thursday that the U.S. continues to be concerned by the reports that Myanmar may be seeking assistance from North Korea with regard to a nuclear program.

She said the U.S. will seek during the ASEAN Regional Forum on Friday further ways in which it can cooperate to alter the actions of the government in Myanmar, encourage the leaders there to commit to reform, and improve the condition of its people.

Clinton also called on Myanmar to hold free and fair elections this year.
