'USTR Briefs Congress on KORUS FTA Negotiation Plan'

A U.S. trade magazine says the Office of the U.S. Trade Representative has briefed Congress about its planned negotiation strategies for the free trade agreement with South Korea.

Inside U.S. Trade says Assistant U.S. Trade Representative Wendy Cutler explained the U.S. government's plan to focus on progress in automobiles and beef in KORUS FTA negotiations to congressional aides of the Senate Finance Committee and the House Ways and Means Committee last week.

But the USTR reportedly expressed no plans to request renegotiations in any other areas.
