A group of U.S. congressional members has expressed support for the ratification of the bilateral free trade agreement with South Korea in a letter sent to U.S. President Barack Obama.

In the letter, 101 lawmakers said they supported Obama’s pledge to submit to Congress a motion to ratify the trade accord with South Korea by early next year. The legislators also vowed to work closely with the administration in handling the ratification of the trade pact.

The recent move comes after a group of 109 Democrats in the House of Representatives urged for “major changes” to the trade deal in a letter to Obama less than two weeks ago.
