Japan says it will resume imports of South Korean chicken and duck meat.

The Japanese Ministry of Agriculture banned such imports in May due to an occurrence of low pathogenic avian flu in South Korea, but will resume imports as it has confirmed that Korea is now free of bird flu following stronger quarantine measures.

Japan imported some 790 tons of South Korean chicken and duck meat in 2007.
