The military will send one high-speed vessel and five bulldozers to the African nation of Ghana for security and construction purposes.

The "Chamsuri 237" high-speed vessel, built in July 1980, was decommissioned in late 2008.

The Defense Ministry says the vessel will be transported to Ghana early next month and handed over to the nation at the end of the year for use to patrol and protect oil field development areas and to root out illegal narcotics trade practices.

The five bulldozers, built in 1990, will be used in construction projects in metropolitan areas of the African nation.

The ministry says the move is aimed at expanding defense exchanges with and increasing defense exports to Africa.
