South Korea has decided to provide an additional one million dollars in emergency assistance to flood-hit Pakistan.

With the additional aid, the nation’s total assistance to Pakistan will stand at two-point-one million dollars.

The additional one million dollars will be used to support World Food Program projects and UNICEF’s drinking water and sanitation projects.

The government plans to unveil its decision to provide the additional aid during a high-ranking officials’ meeting on the Pakistan floods that opens in New York on Sunday.

Some 17-hundred people died and around one-point-eight million houses were destroyed in Pakistan from July until early this month due to flash floods.
