U.S. Special Representative for North Korea Policy Stephen Bosworth is meeting with top Chinese officials to discuss ways to resume the stalled six-party nuclear talks.

Bosworth briefed China’s top nuclear envoy Wu Dawei on Wednesday on the results of his latest visits to South Korea and Japan and reportedly conveyed Washington’s stance on the situation on the Korean Peninsula.

During their meeting, Bosworth is believed to have told Wu that the U.S. will not accept a scenario where it must agree to hold bilateral talks with North Korea before a resumption of the talks can occur.
