Obama Says NK Regime Enslaves Own People

U.S. President Barack Obama mentioned North Korea as he talked about tyranny during a speech at the United Nations on Thursday.

In a speech to the U.N. General Assembly, Obama said tyranny still exists -- "whether it manifests itself in the Taliban killing girls who try to go to school, a North Korean regime that enslaves its own people, or an armed group in Congo-Kinshasa that uses rape as a weapon of war.”

Obama also said he will attend the G20 summit that will open in Seoul in November, adding that the Korean Peninsula provides the world’s clearest contrast between a society that is dynamic and open and free, and one that is imprisoned and closed.

Thursday marked the second time for Obama to deliver a speech at the U.N. General Assembly since his inauguration.
