210 Mln Chinese to Travel Oct. 1-7

A Hong Kong daily says about 210 million Chinese will travel at home and abroad over the seven-day National Day holidays from October first to seventh.

Wen Wei Po quoted a think tank under China's National Tourism Administration as saying the number of Chinese visitors to Hong Kong and other countries will grow 25 to 30 percent from the same period last year.

Major destinations for Chinese overseas travelers include Hong Kong, Macau, Taiwan, South Korea and Europe.

The institute says a territorial dispute between China and Japan and the Philippines hostage crisis will probably cause more Chinese to visit South Korea and Taiwan.
