Chinese Media Expect Big Changes during NK Convention

A number of Chinese media outlets are reporting that key developments will result from the ongoing convention of delegates belonging to North Korea’s Workers’ Party.

State-run Xinhua News is predicting that the convention will deal with future directions, policies, emergency issues and personnel affairs for the North Korean ruling party.

A sister paper of the state-run People’s Daily, the Global Times, said that the next leader of North Korea will be unveiled during the party convention. It added that all eyes are on whether North Korean leader Kim Jong-il will hand over power to his third son Jong-un.
