Fed Chairman to Visit S.Korea

Federal Reserve Board (FRB) chairman Ben Bernanke will visit Korea in October.

The Korean delegation, which is currently in Washington DC to coordinate agendas for the G20 summit, says Bernanke will attend the G20 meeting of financial ministers and central bank governors that will be held in Gyeongju, southeast Korea, from October 22nd to the 23rd.

The delegation says it is highly meaningful as it is the first time that a Fed chairman visits Korea for a particular meeting.

Bernanke has skipped the previous G20 gathering of financial ministers and central bank governors in June that was held in South Korea, citing other commitments in the U.S.
