A joint South Korea-Vietnam peace village for victims of Agent Orange will open in Vietnam on Wednesday.

The Ministry of Patriots and Veterans Affairs says the rehabilitation center for Vietnamese victims still suffering from the chemical widely used by U.S. forces during the Vietnam War is built in Quang Nam Province.

The ministry will mark the center's completion in a ceremony Wednesday attended by 150 officials and local residents.

Two billion won was used to build the village, which is capable of housing 80 people in eight residential buildings. There's also a community center with a conference room, a cafeteria and rehabilitation facilities.

The project was first inked in 2002 between the Korea Disabled Veterans Organization and its Vietnamese counterpart and initially was to be funded by South Korea’s Foreign Ministry. The project was later transferred to the Ministry of Patriots and Veterans Affairs in 2006.
