16 Korean Americans Win in US Midterm Elections

Sixteen Korean Americans were elected in the midterm elections in the U.S. on Tuesday.

Michelle Steel was elected to serve for a second term on the California Board of Equalization, which oversees the financial matters of the state of California.

Kang Suk-hee, the mayor of the city of Irvine, which CNN ranked the 22nd best U.S. city in which to live in 2010, was also reelected.

Washington State Senator Paull Shin was reelected for his fourth term, while Hoon-yung Hopgood won a seat in Michigan’s state senate.

Lawyer B.J. Pak was elected as a representative for the state of Georgia.
