The summit of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) adopted a summit declaration and ended Sunday in Yokohama, Japan.

Under the theme "Change and Action,” the two-day summit discussed regional growth strategies, economic consolidation and refraining from trade protectionism.

APEC leaders agreed to review new growth strategies by easing economic imbalances, through environmental measures and other means by 2015.

They also agreed to pursue comprehensive free trade agreements to realize an Asia-Pacific free trade zone and also to extend by three more years the ban on new protectionist policies.
