US to Continue Sanctioning NK Entities, Individuals

The U.S. says it will continue to sanction North Korean entities and individuals to prevent the North from proliferating weapons of mass destruction.

In a briefing at the Foreign Correspondents Club in Washington, State Department spokesman Philip Crowley addressed the U.S. Treasury Department's designation of two more sanctions targets in North Korea --- the Korea Daesong Bank and the Korea Daesong General Trading Corporation.

Crowley said that what concerns the U.S. most is North Korea's track record in terms of the proliferation of dangerous technology to other countries. He said the U.S. has taken over many years, many steps to try to minimize the proliferation risk that North Korea represents.
