'S.Korea, Japan, US to Set Precondition for Nuke Talks' Resumption'

A Japanese daily says South Korea, the United States and Japan plan to urge North Korea to suspend its uranium enrichment efforts as a precondition to the resumption of the stalled six-way nuclear talks.

The Asahi Shimbun said Tuesday that the three countries reached the decision after their officials held discussions on reports that the North has a new uranium enrichment facility.

The report said U.S. Special Representative for North Korea Policy Stephen Bosworth confirmed the position of the three countries during his visit to Seoul and Tokyo and will convey such a stance to China when he visits Beijing on Tuesday.
