S.Korean Trade Delegation to Visit US Next Week

A South Korean delegation will reportedly visit the U.S. next week for more negotiations on a pending free trade agreement (FTA) between the two countries.

World Trade Online quoted a source in Washington as saying that the U.S. will put stronger pressure on South Korea to remove tariffs on U.S. beef imports while ensuring greater market access to beef-based processed foods from the U.S.

President Lee Myung-bak and U.S. President Barack Obama, both of whom had pledged to come to a compromise on the FTA, did not finalize a deal when they met at the G20 summit in Seoul earlier this month.
