China Aims for Peace, Stability, Denuclearization on Peninsula

Chinese Foreign Minister Yang Jiechi says China’s goals regarding the Korean Peninsula can be summarized into three words: peace, stability and denuclearization.

Yang made the remark in New York on Friday, local time, during a seminar organized by South Korean and the U.S.’s councils on foreign relations.

Yang said that based on such objectives, Beijing urges the two Koreas to remain composed and to engage in dialogue.

Yang said pressure and force cannot be a solution and stressed that only dialogue and consultations can provide breakthroughs.
