4 Chinese Firms among Global Top 10

A Japanese survey finds that four of the top ten global companies in terms of market capitalization are from China.

According to Japan's Nihon Keizai Shimbun daily, rankings by Nomura Securities showed that PetroChina was the second-rated firm worldwide in terms of market cap at over 303 billion dollars.

The Industrial and Commercial Bank of China ranked fifth and the China Construction Bank ranked seventh.

Three U.S. firms were in the top ten, with Exxon Mobil ranking first, Apple coming in third and Microsoft fourth.

As for South Korean firms, Samsung Electronics ranked 37th and Hyundai Motor 251st.
