'US-China Summit to Positively Affect Inter-Korean Relations'

Chinese experts on Korean affairs believe that the latest summit between the United States and China will positively affect the prospect of inter-Korean talks.

The head of Peking University's Korean culture research institute said that at the summit, Washington and Beijing established cooperative relations regarding the Asia-Pacific region, which is considered to be instrumental towards resolving issues on the Korean Peninsula.

The chief added that the U.S. and China relations will have a constructive effect on denuclearization and security on the peninsula.

He also projected that the U.S. and China, respectively, might urge the two Koreas to engage in dialogue.

A professor at Tsinghua University also viewed that the leaders of the U.S. and China recognized the other’s constructive roles in the Asia-Pacific region.
