Taliban Found to be Behind December Attacks on S.Koreans

It has been confirmed that the Taliban was behind two ambushes on the construction sites of South Korean construction companies in Northern Afghanistan in December last year.

A South Korean government official says that Afghanistan intelligence authorities informed the South Korean government of the confirmation.

South Korea’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade has accordingly recommended that the attacked companies minimize the number of Koreans working there.

Last December, two South Korean employees who were supervising road construction in northern Afghanistan were taken by four armed men. Local police rescued the hostages afterwards. Five days later, the office of the construction site of a company in another area in northern Afghanistan was attacked by unidentified assailants.
