Released Trawler to Arrive at Mombasa Tues.

A hijacked South Korean trawler that was released by Somali pirates last week is expected to arrive at the Kenyan port of Mombasa on Tuesday.

A Foreign Ministry official in Seoul said Monday that the “Geummi 305” was initially set to arrive at the port on Monday afternoon, but its arrival has been delayed due to reversing tidal currents. The official said that the 241-ton trawler is expected to arrive at the Kenyan port early Tuesday, Korean time.

Last week, the government sent an official from the Foreign Ministry and another official from the Ministry for Food, Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries to Kenya to find out the details surrounding the Korean ship’s release. The officials will question the crew shortly after the ship docks at Mombasa.

The trawler, hijacked in October of last year, was released by the pirates last Friday. The crew of 43 includes two South Koreans.
