The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade says a high-level meeting of three Northeast Asian nations will be held Wednesday in Tokyo, Japan.

The ministry says that Korea’s Deputy Foreign Minister Kim Jae-shin, Japan’s Deputy Foreign Minister Koro Bessho and China’s Assistant Foreign Minister Liu Zhenmin are scheduled to attend. On the agenda are cooperative directions and the situation in Northeast Asia related to the summit among the three nations to be held in Japan this year.

The high-level meeting is an important collaborative channel among the three nations’ diplomatic agencies. The inception of the meeting was at an ASEAN+3 meeting held in 2007 with the trilateral gathering having taken place five times so far.
