S.Korea, US to Resume Nuke Energy Talks in March

South Korea and the U.S. are expected to hold next month their second round of negotiations on revising their bilateral nuclear energy agreement that expires in March 2014.

A high-ranking official at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade said the two nations are currently working on the schedule for the meetings in Seoul.

The U.S. will reportedly send the State Department's special adviser for nonproliferation and arms control Robert Einhorn to the talks.

The two nations held their first round of negotiations in October 2010 in Washington. The talks are held on a quarterly basis.

Under the current accord, South Korea is banned from reprocessing spent nuclear fuel obtained from civilian power plants.
