3 S.Koreans Wounded in Construction Site Raid in Libya

The government says three South Koreans have been wounded during a raid of a South Korean company’s construction site by hundreds of Libyans in Tripoli.

The South Korean Foreign Ministry said the Libyans raided the site at around 11 p.m. on Sunday, local time, before departing and then returning after a few hours.

A ministry official said some of the Libyans taking part in the raid are armed with guns and knives.

The official said three of the 40 South Koreans at the site were assaulted by the locals participating in the raid, adding that one of the Koreans was stabbed. The official noted, however, that none of the Koreans are in critical condition.

Meanwhile, two of the over one-thousand Bangladeshi workers at the site also reportedly suffered injuries during the raid.
