Gov't Devising Safety Measures for S.Koreans in Libya

The government is coming up with measures to secure the safety of South Koreans staying in Libya following a raid of a South Korean-run construction site by locals there.

The Land, Transport and Maritime Affairs Ministry said on Monday that it formed a task force on Thursday of last week to devise safety measures for South Korean construction workers in cooperation with the Foreign Ministry.

The government plans to send on Wednesday two officials from the ministries to the nation's mission in the Middle Eastern country to protect South Korean construction workers and residents.

A total of 24 South Korean construction firms are operating in Libya, employing some 22-thousand workers, including about 13-hundred South Koreans.
