S.Korea Issues Travel Warning for Libya

The South Korean government has issued a travel warning for all of Libya amid escalating anti-government protests in the North African nation.

The Foreign Ministry in Seoul is asking all South Koreans to cancel plans to visit the African country. It also urged the South Koreans staying in Libya to return home as soon as possible unless their business there is urgent.

A ministry official said that South Korean construction workers in Libya have been evacuated to safe camps at construction sites.

The official added that three South Koreans who were injured during a Libyan raid of a South Korean construction site on Monday are receiving medical treatment and that no further injuries have been reported.

Currently, some one-thousand South Korean construction workers are in Libya.
