Fears of Radiation Catastrophe Escalating

Fears are escalating in regards to a potential catastrophe that could result from radiation leakage at a Japanese nuclear power plant.

All six reactors at the Fukushima Number One Nuclear Power Plant have been found to have problems following last week’s earthquake.

Media reports said Wednesday that cooling down the number four reactor is more difficult following a fire caused by a hydrogen explosion on Tuesday morning.

Media reports say that following the explosion, the Japanese government attempted to inject water into the reactor but failed to do so as the radiation levels there were too high for workers. They are currently considering other methods to cool off the reactor.

If it cannot be cooled, the core of the reactor could melt or another hydrogen explosion could occur.
