97 Korean Nationals in Japan Confirmed Alive

The government has confirmed the safety of most Korean nationals who were reported missing in Japan’s Iwate prefecture.

The Foreign Ministry said Saturday that 97 of the 102 ethnic Koreans who were reported missing have been confirmed alive.
The 97 Koreans include some of the 70 people who were feared dead as they lived in coastal villages.

A ministry official said that the number of Korean nationals who reported missing has now dropped to around 160.
