Radiation at No.3 Reactor Drops

Written: 2011-03-20 13:45:43Updated: 2011-03-20 13:59:49

Japan is struggling to stop a disastrous leakage from the quake-stricken Fukushima nuclear plant.

Japan’s NHK reported on Sunday that the radiation level at the number 3 reactor was measured 29-hundred millisieverts per hour at 8 p.m. Saturday, down 500 millisieverts from the previous day.

The Tokyo Fire Department said that the radiation seemed to drop after the department sprayed seawater continuously on the No. 3 reactor from 2 p.m. Saturday through early Sunday.

However, it is early to say the crisis is over as the reactors could have been damaged from the quake impact although some of the electric cables were connected to power up cooling systems.
