S.Korea Promotes Winter Olympic Bid in London

Candidate cities bidding to host the 2018 Winter Olympics are making their case to International Olympic Committee (IOC) officials in London.

A sports exposition, the SportAccord Convention, opened in London on Monday with famous sports figures attending to lend their support on promoting their cities' Winter Olympic bid. The competing cities are South Korea's Pyeongchang, Germany's Munich and Annecy of France.

The Pyeongchang bid committee chairman Jo Yang-ho, Korean Olympic Committee President Park Yong-sung and Samsung Group Chairman Lee Kun-hee are in London attending events throughout the day to win support from 50 IOC officials there.

The event in London will end Thursday after presentations by each of the bidding city and a news conference.

The winning bid will be announced on July sixth in Durban, South Africa.
