Written: 2011-04-18 12:26:45Updated: 2011-04-19 15:01:34

Yellow dust from the inland region of China is moving towards the Korean Peninsula.

A severe sand storm began in Inner Mongolia last weekend while another storm hit the Gansu Province of China. These storms, the strongest to be observed this spring, were caused by an inflow of cold air from the northern part of China.

Yellow dust moving eastward from the storms is putting the northeastern region of China on alert. Chinese meteorological authorities have issued a yellow dust warning in Beijing and Tianjin. They are predicting the yellow dust will soon affect the Korean Peninsula.
