KOTRA Eyes Lucrative Libyan Reconstruction Market

The Korea Investment Trade Promotion Agency estimates that reconstruction in Libya would generate business worth some 120-billion dollars.

The agency said if the civil war ends in Libya and reconstruction begins, there would be enough demand tantamount to building several satellite cities in South Korea.

It has also estimated that the building of oil refining facilities, electricity plants, housing, ports and roads will take priority in projects allocation.

Moreover, the agency predicted that South Korean companies would be able to at least win projects worth 40 billion dollars considering that South Korea won a third of construction biddings in Libya before the revolution broke out in February.
