Samsung Banned from Selling Smartphones in the Netherlands

A Dutch court in the Hague has banned Samsung Electronics from selling its line of smartphones in the Netherlands starting from October 13th.

But the court did not ban sales of Samsung’s Galaxy Tab 10.1 tablet personal computers.

In a ruling on Wednesday, the court said Samsung’s scrolling technology used in Galaxy S smartphones had violated Apple’s patent for its multitouch scroll-back and bounce design .

Bouncing refers to the technology in which smartphone users can move to the next screen by moving their finger on the touch screen.
