KNCA: NK, Russia Agree on Need to Resume Nuke Talks

North Korea’s Korean Central News Agency says North Korea and Russia have agreed on the need to resume the six-way nuclear talks without preconditions.

The state-run news agency said Thursday that North Korean leader Kim Jong-il and Russian President Dmitry Medvedev agreed during a summit Wednesday that the six-nation talks should reopen in order to advance efforts to denuclearize the Korean Peninsula through the implementation of the September 19th Joint Statement.

The report added that the two leaders also agreed to continuously boost economic cooperation in energy and connecting of railways.

The report said Kim invited Medvedev to visit North Korea when it is convenient for him. Medvedev accepted Kim’s invitation.
