China’s Foreign Minister Wang Yi said tensions between the two Koreas must be resolved through talks regardless of how aggravated inter-Korean relations are.

The minister made the comments to United Nations Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon in a phone call and said developments for denuclearization on the Korean peninsula were to be made to keep peace and stability in the region.

The foreign minister also said six-party talks should be resumed to bring related issues back to the table.

Ban also expressed his deep concerns towards the current situation on the Korean peninsula and said situations must return to normal as soon as possible.
