One Dead in Cairo Clashes Between Christians and Muslims

Clashes between Christians and Muslims in Cairo on Sunday have left one person dead and 60 others injured.

Witnesses say that outside the Egyptian capital's main Coptic Christian cathedral, Christian mourners were attacked by Muslim residents after the funeral for four Christians who were killed two days earlier in fighting between the two religious groups.

Witnesses say the Christian mourners chanted against Islamist President Mohamed Morsi, and planned to carry the bodies of the Christians to the presidential palace as a protest against the previous violence.

Police fired tear gas at the cathedral to break up the crowd.
